Brief Biography

A long time poker pro, Black hails from Belfast, Northern Ireland. He played cards seriously in 1986 while studying for a law degree and admits that he began playing at the Griffin Casino because of the free food and coffee. Black got rid of all his possessions in 1999 and traveled to England and lived in a semi-monastic Buddhist environment for 5 years before returning to poker in 2004. In 2005 he finished 5th at the Main Event of the World Series of Poker.
