Hold

word type: poker slang

  1. To win a poker hand, usually in a situation where a player must "dodge" or "fade" many outs.
  2. An exclamation in support of the process of dodging outs.

Usage

"I had top set, but the dude had an OESFD, still my hand held and I grabbed the chiplead."

Upon witnessing an allin situation where your friend has the best hand but his opponent has fifteen outs twice, you declare, "Hold!" in support.
