Way Ahead Way Behind

word type: poker slang

  1. A scenario in poker where a player is heads-up and is either way ahead in the hand or way behind.

Explained

The most common example given in a Way-Ahead Way-Behind scenario is when a player has KK and goes against 1 opponent and sees a A72 rainbow flop. Either the KK is way ahead here against the opponent (who has something like 99), or, the KK is way behind the opponent (if he had something like AQ for example). In this scenario, there's no reason for a continuation bet.

Acronym

There are two acronyms for the term Way-Ahead Way-Behind: WAWB or WA/WB.
