How to Whiff

Let's say you're holding QdTd and the flop contains the 9d and the Jd, you have a very powerful hand, an open-ended straight flush draw (OESFD). However, if the turn and river bring cards such as the 4s and the 3h, you have "whiffed" all your draws and now your hand is merely queen-high.

The term "brick" is synonymous.
