Spew
word type: verb
- Making a bad decision in poker
- A bad play (noun)
Usage
"Spew" is often used to refer to overly aggressive poker play in which the bets and raises are picked off by better hands and the aggressive player is "sprewing" money around the table. While, in theory, a loose call is also considered "spew" by some, spew is much less-frequently in that way.
Examples
I five-bet shoved preflop with A8o, do you think that was spewy? -BodogAri in 2007
Dude, pushing every time there's a bet to you and you have a flush draw is total spew.
