About Poker Terms

Origin:

Poker Terms was founded in September 2008 by a group of online poker players who saw the need for a truly completely online poker dictionary. There are lots of incomplete poker term collections on the internet, but this site plans on being the first truly comprehensive poker term database online. We plan on compiling definitions of every poker word. And that's how Poker Terms came to be.

Technology:

Poker Terms runs on a webserver, using a MySQL database. The website is nearly entirely database-driven using a custom-written Content Management System designed specifically to handle this sort of content.

Design:

Poker Terms adheres to a Web 2.0 philosophy of design. The original design was produced by Eric Strauss. Another freelancer did the XHTML and CSS coding for the site. It's XHTML strict valid and the CSS validates too. At least for now.
