Edge is an almost interchangeable concept with "EV," and it represents the likelihood a poker player (or any gambler) has of winnong in the game he is playing.

Poker Terms will postulate that Phil Ivey has an edge in most poker games he plays against most opponents, while it is mathematically impossibile for anybody (except for maybe Phil Ivey) to have an edge at the craps table.
