Harrington's nickname of "Action Dan" is an ironic one as he is best known for being a tight conservative player.

Mayfair Club

Harrington gained some of his earliest poker experience at the legendary Mayfair Club in New York where he played with notables such as Howard Lederer, Steve Zolotow, and Erik Seidel.

Published Books

Harrington has released arguably the two most successful book series in the history of poker theory outside of Doyle Brunson's "Super/System" in "Harrington on Hold'em" which goes into tournament theory in a three book set, and "Harrington on Cash Games" which explores cash game theory in a two book set.

Historical Note

Dan Harrington is one of five players in history to have won the World Series of Poker Main Event and a World Poker Tour title. The others are Doyle Brunson, Carlos Mortensen, Scotty Nguyen and Joe Hachem.
