Texas Dolly Nickname
As many know, Doyle Brunson is nicknamed "Texas Dolly" and came from a mistake made by a good friend. Jimmy "The Greek" Snyder was supposed to announce Brunson as "Texas Doyle" but incorrectly pronounced his first name as Dolly, calling him "Texas Dolly". Ever since that date the nickname has stuck.
Historical Record
Brunson became the first player in the world to earn $1,000,000 in poker tournaments.
