1. An empty sidepot create when one player is all in but at least two are left in the hand.

Example

In a tournament, we have ElkY who goes all in for $1 million at the flop. He is called by Phil Ivey as well as Doyle Brunson. Both Ivey and Brunson still have money behind so there's an empty sidepot for the remaining streets of play.
