Final Table

word type: noun

  1. The table where the final combatants in a poker tournament play for the big money.

How it Works

In a poker tournament, tables are consolidated as players are eliminated. The last table remaining is known as the final table.

Final tables may have as few as six players or as many as 10 (a stud final table will have 8 players, since that is the number of players who play stud at once).

Final tables are also where the large bulk of tournament prizepools get distributed, so they are the most important and climactic element of tournament poker.
