At the beginning of 2010, PokerStars announced a new tournament series for players in North America. The North American Poker Tour (NAPT) is of the same mold as the EPT with prize pools topping the $1 million mark. At the outset, PokerStars announced only three venues but said more will be coming in later months to the tour for 2010.
