Origin

Unknown, but one might guess that the dealer's action of "flopping" the cards on the table may have something to do with the evolution of the term.

You Should Also Know...

You don't have to be a math genius to calculated the odds of making your hand after the flop. If you want to estimate the odds to hit your hand on the turn, multiply the number of outs by two. To estimate the odds to hit on either the turn or the river, multiply your outs by four.
