Overcall

  1. To make a call after significant action has taken place in a poker hand.

Examples of Overcalls

There is a river bet by Opponent 1 and a call by Opponent 2. If a third opponent calls the bet, it is considered an "overcall."

In a preflop situation in Hold 'Em, any smooth call that follows a raise and re-raise is considered an "overcall."
