YHS

1. An acronym for "Your Hand Sucks" often found on poker forums and within chat boxes.

Explained

Often times a good poker player will post a hand history to get analysis and insight. Occasionally a hand will be so awful that one will be compelled to simply post "YHS" to express how they feel about your hand.

Example

Kenny posts a hand where he holds 88 on a board of A-K-J-4-3 with four to a club flush. Kenny does not hold an Eight of clubs. He faces a pot-sized river bet and asks for help. He gets only one response:

"YHS dude."
