Origin

The term was born out of Two Plus Two Publishing's poker forums, where many skilled players, and those that believe they are skilled, thumb up their noses at those who do not play the way you are "supposed" to play. Many online poker players believe that anyone can get lucky and win a tournament, even a donkey. Hence, the word "donkament."

You Should Also Know...

Further proof for those who consider every poker tournament a donkament is the fact that Jamie Gold and Jerry yang won the Main Event of the World Series of Poker in 2006 and 2007, respectively.
