Durrrr Challenge

word type: noun

  1. A high-stakes heads-up showdown challenge issued by Tom 'durrrr' Dwan to anyone in the poker world ( except for Phil Galfond).

The Challenge

The challengers must play Dwan at four tables of no limit hold'em or pot limit omaha at minimum stakes of 200/400. The two will play 50,000 hands and, at the end, whoever is up gets a bonus in addition to their winnings. The difference is that, if Dwan wins, he gets $500,000. If he loses, he gives up $1,500,000. Thus the million dollar challenge!

Patrik Antonius: First Challenger

Patrik Antonius is the first poker player to take on durrrr in his million dollar challenge. On February 18th, 2009, durrrr and PA kicked off the challenge by playing 1,500 hands in which Dwan picked up a cool $135,000 lead. Currently, Tom's lead over Patrik is over $1 million after 32K hands.

Who's Next?

The Dwan vs. Antonius match is taking longer than expected, so it's unclear whether durrrr will take on other challengers. However, both David Benyamine and Phil Ivey have said they want to take durrrr up on the challenge.
