OESFD

word type: acronym

  1. Open-Ended Straight Flush Draw.

Power of the Unmade Hand

Open-ended straight flush draws are considered a thing of beauty by most experienced poker players, a hand that usually has 15 outs to create a straight or a flush, and always has two 'mortal outs' to the straight-flush.

Examples

- JdTd on 8d-9d-x board is an OESFD.

- 6s8s on a flop of 7s-9s-x is the same sort of thing.

If you're holding KsQs, and the board contains the Js and Ts, you are actually drawing to a royal flush in addition to your OESFD.
