Qualifying Low

1. The requirement that a hand must meet in any hi/lo split game to be considered valid for the lo pot.

Example

When playing Omaha/8, otherwise known as Omaha hi-low, half the pot is given to someone who has the lowest qualifying low hand. To have such a hand you must be able to make a five card hand with an 8 or lower as its high card. In this situation, both flushes and straights do not count when determining a low hand.
