While most skilled players don't just play ATC, there often comes a time for even the best players when it is necessary. When short stacked in a tournament, particularly when the blinds are quickly approaching, it is often necessary to just shove pre-flop with ATC in order to give the other players a chance to fold or to take the chance that you have two live cards.
