Brief Biography
Matusow's nickname, "The Mouth," stems from his reputation for trash-talking at a poker table, a reputation he has in recent years been trying to shed. Earlier in his career he was also known for the "Mike Matusow Blow-up" where hours of his great play would be destroyed by tilting off all his chips on a single hand, guided by misjudgment. Matusow has battled drug issues, including a 6 month stint in jail after being arrested for possession of cocaine. In 2008 Matusow vowed to turn his personal life around and has embraced a quieter, calmer demeanor and healthier lifestyle.
