Table Mod

word type: noun

  1. A graphical change done by a third party to a poker site's software to enhance the artwork or layout of the table or lobby.

Explained

Most poker sites have not invested time or resources in making attractive table artwork, cards or chips. Some are even intrusive to having a HUD on top of them. Graphic artists who also play poker have modifications (aka table mods) that change the layout, colors and design of a table or even the lobby.

Distributed

Some table mods are available for free on the TwoPlusTwo forum threads. Others are commercial upgrades that can be purchased ranging from $5 to $20 depending on the package. Some are simple table mods while others change the deck or even the chips at the table. Most of the major sites have table mods available.
