Canine

word type: poker slang

  1. A slang term for the Hold'em hand King-Nine, otherwise known as K9, a play on words with the term used for a dog.

Playing K9

Very simply, play K9 all you want if you're the aggressor, but please do not get into the habit of flatting raises with K9 because you think it's a hand that 'plays well'. It doesn't. Most beginning players get themselves into trouble by flatting hands like K9 because they look pretty, but they only get you into trouble on the flop and later streets.
