Rough

1. The opposite of a "smooth draw" in a game like 2-7 TD, wherein one or more cards you are drawing to actually hurt your hand. Also a way of describing a weak low hand in 7-card games.

Liking it Rough

In a game of 2-7 triple draw, if you have 2345, you have the four lowest cards in the game, but your draw is "rough" since the 6 will make a straight and high-hands count against you in games of lowball poker.

In razz, if your hand is 87653 at showdown, you have a "rough eight" since it is one of the worst possible 8-lows you can hold.
