Quick Biography
Born Juan Carlos Mortensen in Ambato, Ecuador in 1972 he moved from Spain to the United States in the mid 1990s to play professional poker. He won the 2001 World Series of Poker Main Event and is considered the last poker professional to win this event. His biggest title came in 2007 at the World Poker Tour's championship event with a whopping $3,970,415 first place prize making him the first player ever to win the WSOP and WPT championship events. In 2006, he and his wife (and fellow poker player) Cecilia Reyes Mortensen, were divorced.
